Argentina: Off the beaten path
As the granddaughter of a Tango singer, I’ve experienced Argentine culture. Now it’s your turn to explore it’s essence: tango, gauchos, asados, wine, vibrant cities and stunning landscapes.
GET TO KNOW ARGENTINA
A sizzling mélange of European and Latin American influences, Buenos Aires is a seriously good-looking city, with sumptuous French and Italian-style architecture, photogenic plazas and parks at every turn. But it’s so much more than just a pretty face. Besides its handsome architecture and fetching public spaces, the Argentinian capital can boast of a rich and complex culture, colorful urban art, a steamy tango scene and some of the finest parrillas (steakhouses) not just in the country, but on the whole continent. Beyond the capital, Argentina promises natural wonders of the jaw-dropping variety, from the thundering Iguazu Falls to the steadily advancing Glaciar Perito Moreno to the cloud-cloaked peaks of Patagonia. Outside the city boundaries, activities can range from the intrepid (think ice hiking in El Chaltén) to the indulgent (think Malbec-tasting in Mendoza with views of the Andes).
